What are ZEROBAC varnishes and paints?

ZEROBAC varnishes and paints are very high performance indoor coatings that ensure outstanding properties for the substrate (wood, plastic, glass, metal, etc.), such as:

  • Good appearance, feel and silkiness.
  • Good scratch resistance.
  • Good chemical and mechanical resistance.

These products offer optimum antimicrobial protection and can be used to varnish and lacquer all types of furniture, objects and construction elements made from materials such as wood, glass, metal, plastic, etc.

How Zerobac antimicrobial varnishes and paints work

They are products treated with an active substance that prevents microbes, including COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2), from proliferating and propagating on their surface.

The GOYLAKE and POLHIDRAL ranges can be converted to their respective ZEROBACs, maintaining their specific properties and characteristics, to provide antimicrobial protection.

 

In the comparison between the power of action of a disinfectant product and ZEROBAC coatings, we found that coatings with ZEROBAC antimicrobial protection last over time, while disinfectants require new applications every few hours to be effective.

The efficacy of Zerobac varnishes has been proven through tests conducted by Vismederi Textyle, S.r.l. according to Standard ISO 21702, “Measuring antiviral activity on plastics and other non-porous surfaces”.

The test results show that the number of SARS-CoV-2 viruses on the surface of the treated product decrease by 99.98% within 24 hours. They have also been tested according to ISO 22196 “Measuring anti-bacterial activity on plastics and other non-porous surfaces” against bacteria such as E.Coli and S. aureus at IMSL.
